Double Award Win for the Mary Rose Museum

Congratulations to the Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) volunteer team at the Mary Rose Museum for winning the South East Marsh Volunteer Award last night.

This is the seventh year The British Museum and the Marsh Christian Trust have been working in partnership for the ‘Volunteers for Museum Learning’ award. The awards recognises the crucial contribution that volunteers make in helping museums engage with their visitors.

 

Mary Kinoulty, Head of Learning at the Mary Rose Museum said “I am so proud of the team. They richly deserve this prestigious award. It is wonderful that their exceptional contribution to learning at the Mary Rose has been recognised in this way.”

 

In addition to this, on Saturday night the Museum team were awarded the Customer Service Award at the Portsmouth News Retail and Leisure Awards.

Paul Griffiths, Head of Operations said: “We were absolutely delighted and honoured to receive the award on Saturday. It’s testament to the great team of staff and volunteers here who always go the extra mile to welcome our visitors.”
