Opportunity to join the team of Mary Rose Volunteers

Are you interested in volunteering at the Mary Rose?

 

Do you have a love for heritage and the enthusiasm to learn about the history of the Mary Rose and its artefacts?

 

Would you enjoy doing something different and experience working within the heritage sector?

 

If so, then this role could be for you.

 

Volunteers in the ClassroomBecome part of our team of friendly and dedicated award winning volunteers who are the mainstay of the Mary Rose and set the tone for our visitor journey by passing on their passion for everything that we have to offer. Working within the galleries, you will engage and support a diverse range of visitors, sharing facts about the ship and its collection and helping to bring the museum experience to life.  You will also have the opportunity to work support our Learning Centre Team by working alongside them to implement the learning programme which would include:

 

●   Interacting with school groups and inspiring pupils and teachers

●   Ability to react to the museums needs and changing programme if necessary

●   Confidence in orientating, supporting and managing groups of children in a busy museum setting.

As part of our training scheme you will undergo an initial induction, shadow an existing volunteer, and full support and ongoing training will also be provided.
