In Henry VIII's time, people in England didn't use forks to eat with. They used knives and spoons and their fingers.

Most people had their own knives and spoons to eat with. This is one of the pewter spoons found on the wreck.

The knife handle on the left is made of wood decorated with copper. (The blade has rusted away).

Both the knife and spoon probably belonged to one of the officers.
