The ships were then ordered to set all sail and race against each other.
The Mary Rose outsailed the rest and Edward Howard described her as...
"Your good ship, the flower, I trow, of all ships that ever sailed"...
Howard lost his life shortly afterwards when he took part in a small boat
attack on the French galleys (oared fighting ships), that were moored
