2. Skype
Question and answer sessions using Skype are available for schools. After using the Mary Rose website or outreach box, pupils prepare a series of questions to ask a member of the Mary Rose team. By mutual agreement we ‘meet’ online to answer them.
“In the Skype session we asked the questions that we wanted to know the answers to. It worked well because we couldn’t get to the museum itself because it’s so far away. That’s the closest we could get.” Pupil
“The children have thoroughly enjoyed handling the artefacts from the loan box and along with the accompanying notes we have all expanded our knowledge of what life would have been like on board the Mary Rose. The children worked in pairs to think of questions they would like to ask about the ship and her crew. The Skype session which followed allowed them to ask their questions directly to a member of the Education Team. The knowledge they gleaned from this was great and was reflected in the factual reports they wrote. Thank you to the Education Team for arranging it all!” Teacher, Llangattock Church in Wales Primary School, Powys
£20 + VAT per 30 minute session. From experience 30 minutes is enough for each pupil to ask a question.
