Careers in Museums – by special arrangement a talk on careers in museums can be added into programmes for KS3/4 and Post-16.
School work Experience Placements
The Mary Rose Trust welcomes pupils on formal placements. Pupils complete a one or two week structured placement working alongside staff and volunteers in a busy museum environment.
University Work Experience Placements
The Mary Rose Trust takes history/heritage or education students on placement from a range of local universities. Students undertake a specific project to suit their own and the museums needs. A student from Winchester (below) produced a presentation aimed at secondary pupils and a museum display on the Barber-Surgeon on board the Mary Rose.
Summer Holiday Experience
For students interested in a career in museums or history week-long placements are available by special arrangement during the school holidays. Students work alongside staff and volunteers to deliver our activity programme within the museum.
