Make your own Purser’s Chest

For May half term, we’ve produced another of our papercraft models!

This model is based on a chest found on the Orlop deck of the Mary Rose. Inside it was enough money to pay a ship’s captain for a month, which along with other items found inside makes us believe that it belonged to the purser.

The purser was responsible for the ship’s finances, as well as distributing ships supplies.

We’ve produced two versions, one in colour, the other in black and white, so you can decorate it however you wish! As always, we recommend printing this model onto stiff card, as the legs, especially at the back, will need support.

You’ll have to provide your own gold coins, though.
