Mary Rose hosts Museums at Night 2015

Join us for a fantastic chance to experience the Mary Rose Museum like never before.

On Thursday, 14th May 2015 the Multi-award winning Mary Rose Museum is hosting an evening of Tudor Fun and Frolics as part of Culture24’s hugely popular ‘Museums at Night’ campaign.

The Mary Rose Museum will be opening its doors after hours, where families will be able to dress up in historical costumes, learn to dance and write like a Tudor, hear stories about the ship and her crew, take part in Tudor crafts, and even meet Henry VIII and his queen!

Afterwards, you’ll be invited to explore the museum, discover the men of the crew and hear their tales.

Josephine Payter, Front of House Manager and one of the team organising this event, said “This event is going to be so exciting and memorable, when else will you get the chance to experience the museum after hours, when the staff have gone and the public have left. It really is an exclusive opportunity for families to explore what life was like for the men on board The Mary Rose, to discover how they lived and worked and even experience the kinds of clothes they wore! For this unique event only, the museum will come to life with activities, characters and so much more!

Tickets cost £5 per person, with a £15 family ticket covering 2 adults and 2 children.

Tickets must be booked in advance, at the Museum front desk, online at maryrose.org/museums-at-night-2015 or call us: 023 92 812931

This evening is aimed at families with children aged 6 – 12 (please note, children will need to be accompanied by an adult)
