Museum hits 500,000th visitor!

Only 55 weeks since opening, the Mary Rose Museum has received its 500,000th visitors!

The Swedish family of four, Per Ruottinem, Annika Wijk and their children Klas and Maja Wijk, were greeted by Rear Admiral John Lippiett, Chief Executive of the Mary Rose Trust, and presented with a bag of goodies.

After a quick photo-session with reporters from the Portmsouth News, they were taken on a tour of the museum by Rear Admiral Lippiett, where they got to see several areas not usually on the visitor route, including our Archive, where objects that didn’t go into the museum displays are kept. They also got to visit our exclusive bridge balcony, usually reserved for special events.
