Work on the new museum, in Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard, is now nearly complete and we have just £35,000 left to raise. Please join us in helping to complete our appeal by making a gift, however small at http://www.justgiving.com/maryroseappeal
Many of us can remember watching the Mary Rose being raised from the seabed on television 30 years ago. In 2008 the Mary Rose Trust launched an appeal to raise £35 million to build a new museum that would reunite Henry VIII’s flagship, the Mary Rose, with the 19,000 artefacts brought up from the seabed of the Solent.
As the first vessel in our permanent navy the Mary Rose holds a unique place in history. Launched in 1511 and in operation for 34 years before her sinking, the Mary Rose has captured the imagination of generations as a key part of our maritime history.
If many people make just a small gift we will reach our target. Please help secure the future of this very special part of England’s history.
