Along with the now constant stream of artefacts being raised, the interior timbers of the ship were being dismantled: an important decision had been reached, there would be an attempt to raise the Mary Rose.

The excavation of the ship is covered by both Alexander McKee's book - How we found the Mary Rose - and Margaret Rule's book - The Mary Rose.
