Razor Handles The razors in the picture would have had long blades that folded back into the handles. Unfortunately the blades of the barber-surgeon's tools have all rusted away. You had to be careful using these razors, it was very easy to cut the person you were shaving. Another name for them is cut-throat razors! |
Shaving Bowl This brass shaving bowl comes from the barber-surgeon's cabin. As you can see, it is identical to the one in the picture on the last page. The scoop taken out of the rim means it can fit tightly against your throat. This stops the soap and water dribbling down your chest.
