Join the Commodores’ Club

This club will comprise 500 members (one for each year since the maiden voyage of the Mary Rose in 1511). Membership is for life. It is open to all and any individuals who make a significant financial contribution to the Mary Rose Trust.

Commodore Club membership

Commodore £10,000
Rear Admiral (Minimum gift: £25,000)
Vice Admiral (Minimum gift: £50,000)
Admiral (Minimum gift: £100,000)

Payments may be made over 1 – 5 years and can be enhanced by Gift Aid and attract Matched Funding.  Becoming a Commodore brings in £18,800 for the Trust!.

There are a number of benefits to joining the Commodore’s Club, some of which are outlined below. 

The Mary Rose Trust will recognise generosity by:

  • Offering private tours of the Museum, Ship Hall and Reserve Collection.
  • Inscribing a Commodore’s name on a name board or other feature in a prominent position within the new museum
  • Keeping members in touch by sending Annual Reports and other regular updates
  • Acknowledging support in Mary Rose publications
  • Commissioning a gold-embroidered cummerbund denoting the rank together with the Crest of the Mary Rose
  • A silver enamelled brooch for lady commodores
  • Offering a commemorative gift to mark the opening of the Museum

Commodores will be invited to attend:

  • The Opening of the new Museum which we expect to be opened by HRH The Prince of Wales, President of the Mary Rose Trust
  • Other periodic special days and parties
  • Lectures by well-known historians and other interesting speakers (held periodically)
  • Previews of new Exhibitions and other important Museum initiatives
