Be a Volunteer
Volunteering in the Museum and Ship Hall is an interesting and worthwhile way to help the Mary Rose. We rely enormously on the good will and enthusiastic participation of our Volunteers who fulfil roles which vary from being costumed interpreters to museum guides to helping out at the handling tables. There are lots of different ways you can volunteer and have fun doing so at the same time.
”I love my work here, It is a wonderful place to come to and I meet lots of interesting people and other volunteers. I drive in from the New Forest to do this and have done for the last 6 years. It keeps my brain active and I have learned such a lot”
Bob Girling, costumed interpreter and retired garden centre manager.
Volunteers work one day a week (10.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m.) as a minimum.
Volunteers receive full training, expenses and refreshments and are also entitled to discount arrangements in the museum shop and complimentary tickets for the historic dockyard.
