Everyone knows what’s supposed to happen on those breakout sessions and corporate awaydays. Blue-sky thinking (even though you’re stuck in a boring room-without-a-view), pushing the envelope (even though everything feels more back-of-the-envelope) and all the hope that perishes when the attendees realise it’s still four hours ‘til lunchtime…
So do something different! Give your guests and employees an experience they’ll want to shout about – by organising your next important meeting or brainstorming session at The Mary Rose Museum’s Wardroom.
The view from our room is of HMS Victory in Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard and far from thinking about blue skies, you’ll actually be able to glimpse them from our panoramic Bridge Balcony.
Yes, we have a big table and chairs enough for 18 people to sit in comfort. We’ve also got the techno bells and whistles – Wi-Fi, screens and full multi-media support on site.
But much more than this we have The Mary Rose herself, the world’s largest Tudor artefact, raised from the sea-bed 35 years ago, along with 19,000 fabulous items.
When you bring your corporate meeting or event to the Mary Rose you’ll get a private tour of the re-imagined display space, which takes you from the very keel of Henry VIII’s flagship to the viewing gallery where you can step into her unique atmosphere. In between you’ll be able to view each deck through the eyes of those who lived and worked on her: the cook, the carpenter, the soldiers, surgeon and pilot, together with the recovered objects placed in context, opposite the deck where they would have been used.
Your guests will be able to take in the ever-changing view from our outside area, the Bridge Balcony, overlooking HMS Victory, Nelson’s flagship. They’ll also get the chance to see visiting ships, Royal Naval vessels and, possibly, Land Rover BAR, Sir Ben Ainslie’s incredible America’s Cup challenger yachts, which live just around the corner.
You can also enjoy delicious tea, coffee, snacks and lunch to keep everyone sustained and ensure that your surroundings will be your inspiration.
