Community Visits to Special Needs groups
Mixing history with entertainment, each special needs group visit is all about getting involved and having fun. Stroke groups, Mencap, Alzheimer’s Society, Hospices, Age UK and local authority day centres all receive visits from the Trust.
Sessions include a talk given by our Community Engagement Officer Trevor Sapey, plus the chance to handle real and replica artefacts from the ship. Sessions are designed to promote interest and discussion and engage members with everyday life on a Tudor ship.
Visits are free of charge to groups in Portsmouth and across Hampshire. However, we would be grateful for any donations to support our work. For special needs groups further afield we do ask for contributions towards travel costs.
Whatever the age range or the size of your community group, we can tailor a session to meet your needs. If you would like to find out more, please contact education@maryrose.org or +44(0) 2392 812931
