Get Totally Tudor this October Half Term with our family-friendly activities!
21st – 29th October 2017
This October Half Term you can get ready for Hallowe’en with our cool craft activities!
In the mornings, you can make your own beeswax candle, perfect for putting inside a Hallowe’en pumpkin!
This activity is being held in our Education Centre, and will cost £1 per candle made.
In the afternoon, children can make their own “Trick or Treat” Treats, as they produce ‘Subtleties’, marzipan models which were popular in the Tudor court. Will you got for a Tudor design, like the Tudor Rose or the Fleur de lis, or create your own? (we’ll be using fondant icing though, for safety reasons!)
This activity is being held in our Education Centre, and will cost £1 per ‘subtlety’ model made.
The Mary Rose Museum will also be receiving a special visit from one of the wives of HRH King Henry VIII, who with their Ladies in Waiting will be making their Royal Progress through the museum, meeting visitors and surveying what remains of her husband’s favourite warship, the Mary Rose.
There will also be talks on Tudor Costume both days at 12pm and 3pm, as well as a chance to dress up for yourself! Admission to the talks are free with a valid Mary Rose Museum ticket.
